Never Have I Ever: South Carolina

January 23, 2010

So, last I left you, I was ecstatically happy that Big Love was on, but THEN mid-episode it was brought to my attention that I was smelled disgusting – which I was aware of while blogging last night BUT unaware of the actual extent of my stench. So, I squeaked a never-have-I-ever in before midnight: never have I ever taken a shower in a handicapped shower. We were given a handicapped accessible room upon entering the Holiday Inn Express, but I did not quite know what that meant until I was showering literally in the middle of my bathroom with water going everywhere. Understandably accessibility-wise, nerve wracking in the I’m-going-to-die-slipping-all-over-this-wet-floor kind of way. Consensus: minorly unsatisfying.

Fast forward to today. The adventures included:

  • Arriving in Bluffton at the lovely Sun City where my grandparents reside.  It was not my first visit, buuut it was the FIRST time that C met them… so.. I was a little nervous. But, she’s a charmer, and it was a great afternoon.
  • Main St. in Bluffton! WOW! I wish I had taken pictures, but I didn’t so let me just recap: every freaking fantastic Julia Roberts in the south movie fantasy brought to life, staring yours truly, hanging moss and all. Literally unreal.
  • Dinner at Pepper’s Porch. First ever OFFICIAL fried green tomatoes. And second ever – but so unbelievably good every time is like the first – shrimp and grits. I actually went there for the shrimp and grits. It was kind of my destination of the day. And it was so worth it.
  • Public Enemy = loud + bloody. Second ever blue ray movie. Turns out I don’t really need to see the blood actually flow out of Johnny Depp’s face.

And with that, I am dead tired. Sweet Dreams.
