Needy 58: Getting Our Bother On With Jennifer Louden

Getting Our Bother On, A Needy Conversation with best-selling author Jennifer Louden
For today’s episode I had the pleasure of speaking with best-selling author Jennifer Louden. Jennifer’s powerful new book Why Bother? explores how getting our bother on can rejuvenate our lives and help us discover our desire for what’s next — a necessary and potent topic during these challenging times.

Jennifer Louden is a personal growth pioneer who helped launch the concept of self-care with her first bestseller, The Woman’s Comfort Book. Since then, she’s written seven additional books on well-being and whole living, including The Woman’ s Retreat Book and The Life Organizer, with close to a million copies of her books in print in nine languages. Jennifer has spoken around the U.S., Canada, and Europe, and has written a national magazine column for a Martha Stewart magazine. She’s been profiled or quoted in dozens of major magazines; two of Brené Brown’s books, Daring Greatly and Dare to Lead; and appeared on hundreds of TV, radio shows and podcasts—even on Oprah.

During this conversation, Jennifer and I talk about claiming your own authority for enoughness and developing a resilient and reflective relationship with yourself. We explore how we can learn to let go of the idealized versions of ourselves and awaken our identity.

She shares how she’s learned to tend to her needs in different seasons of life, what’s next for her and how we can leave to give ourselves permission to wonder and truly ask ourselves, “What do I desire?”

Tune in to hear us explore…

  • Why you need to claim your own authority for enoughness
  • How your life changes when you move away from the mentality of “why bother” to showing up for yourself
  • Why you need to give yourself permission to wonder and awaken your desires

Hang with Jennifer…
